Obama: ‘I Spend Most Of My Time Watching ESPN In The Morning’

President Obama admitted during an ESPN radio interview that he spends a lot of his time watching the sports cable channel in the morning.

“Listen, I spend most of my time watching ESPN in the morning,” he said. “I get so much politics, I don’t want to be inundated with a bunch of chatter about politics during the day.”

Obama indicated that he liked to watch ESPN’s SportsCenter while he was working out and would sometimes keep a game on TV when he was reading a briefing book.

Obama praised athletes for speaking out on issues of police fairness after protests inspired by the Michael Brown shooting swept the country.

“There are important issues out there and for athletes to recognize that they’re citizens as well as entertainers and they’ve got a voice that’s legitimate, I think is important, I think it’s useful,” he said.
