Cops Called In to Halt Islamist Bullies Patrolling UK Polling Stations

British police are planning a crackdown to stop Islamists intimidating Muslims into not voting in next week’s European and local elections.

The Times reports that the independent Electoral Commission has identified 16 areas as "hotspots" for electoral fraud or voter intimidation, including the notorious London borough of Tower Hamlets which has a history of alleged electoral crime.

Detectives are already investigating suspected irregularities on nomination forms and in postal voting arrangements. Breitbart London has learned that every polling station in areas of East London will have a uniformed officer present, patrolling outside polling stations in the "hotspots" to deter fraud, people impersonating other voters and people trying to intimidate voters.

Further information obtained by Breitbart London sources in the area have confirmed that polling stations will have a 'sterile zone' enforced so as to stop harassment and bullying on the final stretch into a polling station. Police squads will be no further than two minutes away from any of the polling stations concerned.

Police are concerned that extremist vigilantes will try to prevent normal Muslims from voting by claiming that democracy is a sin against Islam.

Issuing "threats of harm of a spiritual nature" could be criminal offence, according to police guidance.

Yesterday, Anjem Choudary, whose supporters have set up "Muslim patrols" to stop people voting, sent a series of tweets condemning voting in next week's elections as a sin:

East London is a stronghold for Choudary's 'Need4Khilafah' group, which is known for its connections with convicted terrorists, and pro-Shariah law campaigners.

The Electoral Commission has also identified Birmingham, Bradford, Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Calderdale, Coventry, Derby, Hyndburn, Kirklees, Oldham, Pendle, Peterborough, Slough, Walsall and Woking as areas of concern.

On Tuesday, police arrested two men on suspicion of making false declarations on election nomination papers. Two men, who are not connection, are from Tower Hamlets and Enfield. They have been bailed pending further enquiries.
