Bob Stoops to ESPN: Not in Mood to Talk Football Right Now
Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops said he just was not in the mood to talk or think about the upcoming football season a day after a devastating tornado ravaged Moore, Oklahoma on Monday.
Stoops appeared on "SportsCenter" on Tuesday and said he saw the tornado, which was a mile away from his home, from the back window of his home.
He said he had not seen anything like this since the 1999 tornado that hit Moore, and said it will be a "long-term effort" to get "everybody back on their feet."
He encouraged people to donate to the Red Cross and said even though, as far as he knew, none of his players or their families were impacted, a graduate assistant and strength coach had their homes demolished.
The college football season kicks off 100 days from today, but Stoops, when asked to discuss his team's prospects, simply said he was "not much in the mood to go there right now."
