Democrat, Gay Rights Activist Arrested for Alleged Sex With Minor

A prominent Democrat activist was indicted for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old boy. The suspect, 66-year-old Terrence Patrick Bean, was a co-founder of Human Rights Campaign, which takes a pro-abortion stance

The alleged abuse occurred in 2013 in Eugene, Oregon, according to The Orgonian. No further details about the incident have been released by the District Attorney.

Bean was eventually arrested in his home located in Portland. He was reportedly charged with two counts of third-degree sodomy and one count of third-degree sexual abuse.

Bean was one of Oregon’s biggest and most prominent Democratic donors. He is known for promoting gay rights and supporting abortion. Aside from helping found the Human Rights Campaign, Bean also had a role in the creation of the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund. He additionally donated substantial funds to President Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns.

The Human Rights Campaign previously praised a bill that would permanently cut federal abstinence education funding because it would “end abstinence-only-until-marriage programs once and for all.”

Bean has pictures of himself talking with Obama on his Flickr account. He also has shots of himself with Michelle Obama, former President Bill Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi.

Kristen Winemiller, Bean’s lawyer, told the Oregonian, “Terry Bean is a highly respected community leader who has devoted his life to bettering our community. Over the course of several months in 2013-2014 Terry was the victim of an extortion ring led by several men known to law enforcement. This current arrest is connected to the ongoing investigation of that case in which Mr. Bean has fully cooperated. No allegations against Terry Bean should be taken at face value. We look forward to the opportunity to clear his name.”
