DC Council Member to Urge Redskins to Change Name to 'Redtails'

A Washington, D.C. Council member is preparing to introduce a non-binding resolution that will call on the Washington Redskins football team to change its name to the Washington "Redtails." David Grosso, an independent who was elected last year, said the current team name is “a derogatory, racist name.” Grasso said, "It’s been a long time that we’ve had this name associated with Washington, and I think its time we take a stand and change it." “You can still sing the song and everything,” Grasso said.
