Remembrance Project Director: Americans Don’t Know Real Stats About Illegal Immigrant Crimes, Murders Because Lawmakers Beholden to Pro-Amnesty Donors

The Remembrance Project, which honors Americans who have been murdered by illegal immigrants, will have their national Day of Remembrance on November 1 (it is held on the first Sunday of November).

On Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125, Maria Espinoza, the group’s director, did not mince any words when discussing how America’s politicians have failed their constituents regarding illegal immigration.

Speaking to host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon, Espinoza said legislators are not “protecting our families and looking out for our best interests” and urged them to “secure our borders, uphold our current laws, and make sure [the safety of Americans] is put first.”

Though Americans such as Kate Steinle have been murdered by illegal immigrants who had been deported multiple times, Espinoza said the law to defund sanctuary cities did not pass the Senate last week because “the Senators are beholden to their donors, who want open borders or who want cheap labor.”

“They’re not thinking about their constituents or the American taxpayer,” she said, noting that if legislators cared about their constituents, Americans would know the exact number of Americans murdered by illegal immigrants and have those statistics.

Former CBS investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson recently said that Americans would be “surprised” to hear about how large the problem is, and the victims of crimes and murders committed by illegal immigrants believe that lawmakers are “just bowing to special interests, because they don’t want to crack down on the problem at all, because they get cheap labor.”

On Breitbart News Sunday, Espinoza asked listeners to go to TheRemembranceProject.org and reach out to local coordinators and find out where National Day of Remembrance events are being held in their area. Espinoza also urged listeners to hold vigils in their areas, “ask for prayers in your churches” and ask pastors to pray for the families who have been victimized by illegal immigrants.

Espinoza said that she often sits in church and “the pastor is asking the congregation to pray for the illegal immigrant… we want them to say the same prayers, same considerations for our families.”

Espinoza will hold a Monday morning press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. to discuss the upcoming national Day of Remembrance.
