Actor and TV host Mario Lopez shared footage of himself being baptized in the Jordan River, proudly proclaiming that Jesus Christ is his Lord and savior.

Lopez documented his journey, in what he called “bucket-list” tour of the Holy Land, posting several videos to social media.

“We are at the Jordan River where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. I’m about to get baptized,” the Saved by the Bell star said while dressed in a white robe just moments before his baptism. “It’s a beautiful day. There’s a really cool Catholic priest that’s gonna do me the honors. And there’s a sermon going on right now. So I’m going to join these fine folks and then, bam! It’s on!”

Moments later, Lopez was lowered into the water after professing the Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior. A crowd gathered and sang, “I have decided to follow Jesus.”

“Thank you,” the Extra host said as he emerged from the river. “Beautiful people here. This is awesome. Wow. I just got baptized in the Jordan River. Hallelujah.”

“That was awesome, that was so cool and I was so fortunate to meet these very nice people from Romania. They sang the song for me and everything. That was moving. That was cool.”

Lopez shared several videos chronicling his journey through the land where Jesus spent his last days.

The devoutly Catholic 44-year-old shared feelings about his faith in a candid interview with Fox News.

“I am proud of who I am and what I am and being Catholic,” Lopez said. “I think as I’ve gotten older, I’ve just tried to build a more spiritual muscle in a business that is very unpredictable. It’s nice to have something that is consistent in our life – family and faith is that for me.”
