Kelly Roberts, owner of a landmark southern California hotel and wife of the inventor of the frozen burrito, is expected to be tapped to be President Donald Trump’s nominee to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia.

New York magazine’s Daily Intelligencer reports that Roberts and her “frozen burrito” entrepreneur husband Duane, are mega-donors to the GOP establishment in California, proudly advertising that fact on the website of the California’s Historic Mission Inn, which they own:

Kelly has served as a member of Team California, a prestigious organization that raises funds for republican causes as well as the republican Regents.  She was a member of the delegation for Bob Dole for President.  Kelly has participated in major fundraising campaigns for President George W. Bush, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Governor Pete Wilson, Congressman Ken Calvert, Senator Ray Haynes, Assemblyman Ted Weggeland, and District Attorney Grover Trask and collaborates actively with the Lincoln Club of Riverside County.

Mrs. Roberts is an tremendously accomplished businesswoman in her own right. In addition to taking the Mission Inn from the brink of demolition to an award-winning landmark hotel and spa destination as Vice Chairman and Chief Opperating Officer, Roberts serves on the board of Pepperdine University.  She also serves on the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital Foundation, and splits her time between multiple other boards of directors of historic, political and charitable foundations.

Roberts’s daughter, Casey Brown, is following in her footsteps. Brown opened the first Casey’s Cupcakes at The Mission Inn after winning Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.”

New York reports:

[First Lady] Melania Trump is said to have taken a strong interest in helping select the U.S. ambassador to Slovenia under her husband’s administration. A source familiar with the selection process said that she was presented with dossiers of several potential candidates and endorsed Roberts in large part because she felt that the United States would be best represented by a member of the business community. The First Lady was born in 1970 in what was then known as the Socialist Republic of Slovenia, part of Yugoslavia.

Roberts also has a law degree from USC, and was featured in a 2015 “Women in Business” profile on the left-leaning website HuffPost.

Her appointment is reportedly being championed by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Bakersfield), and is unlikely to be opposed.
