Another Jihadi John? Second Islamic State Jailer Identified as Londoner

Another member of Islamic State’s self-proclaimed  ‘Beatles’ prison guards has been identified as a Londoner who once joined an aid convoy to Gaza organised by George Galloway.

Alexanda Kotey, 32, from Shepherd’s Bush, brutally tormented foreign prisoners in Islamic State-held territory in Syria, according to the Washington Post.

Kotey, a father of two children, converted to Islam in his early twenties after being in a relationship with a Muslim woman.

Of Ghanaian and Greek Cypriot background, Kotey was identified through a joint Post and BuzzFeed News investigation. His name was confirmed by a U.S. intelligence official and other people familiar with British nationals in Syria. They all spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

It has been claimed but not confirmed that Kotey used to regularly attend the al-Manaar mosque in Ladbroke Grove along with Mohammed Emwazi, better known as ‘Jihadi John’ (pictured).

As Breitbart London reported, ‘Jihadi John’ was ‘vapourized’ when a U.S. drone strike targeted a vehicle in Raqqa, Syria believed to be transporting the masked Islamic State militant.

They were both part of the ‘London boys’, a group of young radical Muslim extremists, predominantly from West London, several of whom have been killed in Syria and Somalia.

Alongside fellow London Boys member Reza Afsharzadegan, an Iranian-born IT student from the Ladbroke grove area, Kotey travelled to Gaza as part of an aid convoy of 110 vehicles led by Galloway in 2009.

Nine volunteers on the Viva Palestina mission were arrested under the United Kingdom’s Terrorism Act the day before departure.

“There was, of course, a vetting procedure on those who applied to join the convoy”, a spokesman for George Galloway told the Mail Online, before saying “the names you have given are unknown to us.”

Kotey’s family in London declined to comment, as did British security officials.
