Estrada to quit Montpellier for Emirates

Chilean international midfielder Marco Estrada is to sign for United Arab Emirates club Al Wahad from 2012 French champions Montpellier, a source close to the French team revealed on Monday.

The 30-year-old – who has been at Montpellier since after the 2010 World Cup finals – will sign a two year contract for a fee of around 1.5million euros (US$2million) according to the source.

Estrada, whose experience at the 2010 World Cup finals was short-lived when having come on as a substitute in the group game with Spain he was sent off for a foul on Fernando Torres, has scored nine times in 84 appearances for Montpellier.

Estrada is the ninth player to leave Montpellier, who never threatened to defend their 2012 Ligue 1 title, since the end of the season and looks set to be followed by playmaker Younes Belhanda and Cameroon defender Henri Bedimo.
