Sally Bercow, wife of Commons Speaker John Bercow, has deleted a Twitter message which reportedly breached a court order, days after wrongly linking Lord McAlpine to child abuse claims.
Bercow was warned by journalists after she named a schoolgirl who allegedly ran away with her maths teacher, contravening a court order under the Children and Young Persons Act 1933, banning identification of the girl.
She sent a message late Monday asking what happened to the teacher, Jeremy Forrest, 30.
The tweet was later deleted, though another message remained: “Forgive random question – just discussing with friend…”.
Former senior Tory Alistair McAlpine is set to sue Bercow after she apparently linked him to a botched BBC report into child sex abuse.
