Brazil’s Tony Kanaan, frustrated after leading eight times without a victory, won the 97th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday by making a tension-packed pass for the lead with three laps remaining.
Colombian rookie Carlos Munoz was second with American Ryan Hunter-Reay third, American Marco Andretti fourth and Britain’s Justin Wilson fifth.
