Police are investigating the deaths of a woman and girl who are thought to have been overcome by carbon monoxide fumes on a boat on Lake Windermere.
The pair went into cardiac arrest after North West Ambulance Service were called to the boat in Bowness just after 4.00 pm on Monday.
They were taken by air ambulance to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary but Cumbria Police later reported the woman, 36, and girl, aged 10, had died.
The hospital was treating a man who was also on the boat.
“Police are currently investigating the circumstances of this tragic incident and trying to establish the full facts about what has happened,” said a police spokesman.
