Three people were killed by mortar and sniper fire near the Syrian capital on Friday but there were no reports of heavy fighting in the area on the first day of a ceasefire, a watchdog said.
“Three men were killed in the town of Harasta in Damascus province, one by mortar fire and two by army snipers. A number were also wounded in army gunfire,” said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
“There are no reports of fighting at the moment in the town, which saw violent clashes over the past few days,” said the Britain-based group.
