Police released on bail two men arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and false imprisonment at an Islamic girls’ school in Lancaster.
A third man arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment at the Jamea Al Kauthar school was released without charge.
Police continued to search the school grounds as the investigation continues into claims involving “a small number of teenage girls” at the school.
A 30-year-old man from Blackburn and a 40-year-old man from Bolton were bailed pending further inquiries, said a police spokeswoman.
A 53-year-old man from Blackburn was released without charge.
A statement on the school’s website said: “The school is aware of the allegations that have been made and at the present moment the school is fully co-operating with the police with their investigations into the matter.
“The school will publish a statement of any details it receives, once this has been received. We expect the matter to be cleared up soon.”
It has been reported that the suspects had links to the school.
