The condition of President Hugo Chavez has improved and he is entering “a new phase of treatment” after finishing post-operative care, Venezuelan Vice President Nicolas Maduro said Sunday.
Chavez, who had cancer surgery on December 11 in Cuba, has improved enough “to enter the next stage,” Maduro, anointed as the president’s political heir, said in an interview with Televen, a private Venezuelan television network.
