World’s largest beach ball constructed for ‘Baywatch’ premiere

May 31 (UPI) — Paramount Pictures celebrated the London premier of its new Baywatch film by constructing the world’s largest beach ball.

The official Twitter account for Paramount Pictures UK shared photos of the massive red, white and blue ball, which was placed on the River Thames to set the Guinness World Record for “largest inflatable beach ball.”

Baywatch stars Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario and Jon Bass were present as world record adjudicator Sofia Greenacre determined if the ball’s nearly 66-foot diameter was enough to set a new record.

In addition to exceeding the previous record diameter of 51 feet and 10 inches, it was required that Paramount Pictures’ ball consisted of the same materials used to make a standard size beach ball.

Greenacre ultimately verified the ball’s size and makeup and presented the cast of the film with certificates commemorating the new world record.
