Mass Graves Discovered North of Acapulco

Mexican authorities have found 32 bodies and nine heads in approximately 20 mass graves in the Mexican State of Guerrero. The state, which is home to the famous beach resort city  Acapulco, has been the scene of a fierce cartel war as rival groups fight for lucrative distribution routes.

The new discovery comes after authorities began an investigation on Tuesday in the rural area of Zitlala near the Tenanchitla hill. By Thursday afternoon, Mexican authorities had discovered 32 bodies and nine heads, information released by the Guerrero government.

It remains unclear if the nine heads found in the mass graves could be connected to the discovery of nine bodies earlier this week in Guerrero. As Breitbart Texas reported, in that case, cartel members tortured and beheaded nine men whose remains were left behind with cartel messages near a rural road in Guerrero.

The human remains from the mass grave have since been moved to the state capital for further forensic evaluations. Authorities have since announced that Mexican military personnel will continue patrolling the area and searching for more mass graves.

As Breitbart Texas has reported, Guerrero in the same Mexican state where police officers kidnapped 43 education students from the rural community of Ayotzinapa and turned them over to cartel members. While the Mexican government claims the cartel murdered and incinerated the students, the theory has since been disproved by various teams of scientists. The fate of the students remains unclear as relatives and advocates continue to pressure the government for answers.
