McClintock: Cut McCarthy and Boehner Some Slack

Congressman Tom McClintock (R-CA) argued that conservatives should cut House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) some slack on Tuesday’s “Mark Levin Show.”

McClintock said “I realize that conservatives are often at odds with him over particular policies because of the constraints that he is under being a member of the leadership, but I think that his political skills are without parallel and his policy inclinations are very good” of McCarthy and that conservatives should “cut Kevin a bit of slack” given that he has to bring together a “very diverse” House GOP coalition and that McCarthy has been “generally conservative.”

He added that he felt the same way about Boehner even though he’s been “very frustrated over some of the decisions that he’s made, I think he’s made some very poor decisions from time to time,” but that he should be cut “a little bit of slack” given “the constraints that he has to work under.”
