Stewart Blasts WEF Members for Flying Private Jets to Discuss Climate Change

Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” mocked participants in the 2015 World Economic Forum (WEF) for what he argued was hypocrisy on Thursday.

After reporting that around 1,700 private jets will be used to fly WEF participants to Davos, Switzerland, where the event is held, he asked “can’t you just jetpool, and what’s the topic of discussion this year, that is so important, that nobody could wait for a commercial flight?” After playing a clip of Fox News Channel anchor stating that climate change is one of the major topics, Stewart was incredulous asking “as in ‘can you believe how much climate we changed?'” He similarly mocked the fact that another planned topic of discussion was global inequality.
