Trump: A ‘Vast Majority’ of GOP on Obama’s Side

Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump discussed the divide in the House of Representatives between moderate and conservative members and said the real problem is the majority moderates are on President Barack Obama’s side.

Trump said, “Here’s the problem, when he says false prophets, you cannot win when you have a group of 25 or 30 percent on this side, and you have a group of 70 percent on this side saying, ‘We’re never going along with the 30 percenters who want more.’ That’s what’s happening, and every time I watch it I say it’s so sad, because if they were really unified and took at 30 percent stance, and really make changes and do it right and cut the budget and the deficit and do things they should be doing. If they took that group and everything was unified Obama would fold. But there’s no reason for him to fold, because he knows a big proportion — a vast majority of the Republicans are on his side.”
