Woody Allen Pays for Hollywood’s Depraved Support of Child Rapist Polanski
As the Oscar campaign for “Blue Jasmine” heated up, Woody Allen again accused by his adopted daughter Dylan of sexually abusing her over 20 years ago. This supposedly occurred in the early 90’s, when Allen ran off and married his girlfriend Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter Soon-Yi (Dylan’s sister). Creepy. No doubt. And now with the whole sordid affair being re-litigated, investors who were all set to plop $15 million into a Broadway musical based on Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway are getting skittish.
My how things have changed.
Where is Allen’s vocal Hollywood support? Where are the sanctimonious statements released in his defense from the actors and big-time producers who so vigorously defended Roman Polanski just a few year ago when the Oscar-winning director faced extradition to the United States?
Roman Polanski raped a 13 year-old girl. Raped. Sodomized. Pled guilty. Fled justice.
Bubbled, depraved Hollywood thought rallying support for a fugitive child rapist was a good idea until it blew up in their sick faces. Sounds like they learned their lesson.
What’s interesting is that while it is unconscionable to defend Polanski, it is not impossible to defend Allen. He was never prosecuted, much less found guilty of molesting Dylan. He has remained married to Soon-Yi since 1997. There’s no pattern of child molestation that we are aware of.
Little ‘Juno’ Girl Is Gay
Coming out as gay in Hollywood (and America for that matter) is about as brave as bringing beer to a frat party. Come out as a Palin supporter. That would take some nerve, especially if you are still looking to build your Hollywood career.
Anyway, Ellen Page is a lesbian.
No kidding — I thought she had already come out. Apparently not. If you come out twice as gay that makes you straight or something.
Nobody cares, Ellen. Not even the people who pretend to. Go live your life. Have a happy one.
Why Not Stalin, Hollywood?
The reaction to this media piece I wrote last week, exposing CNN’s shockingly bad reporting on Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, got me thinking about Hollywood.
The American entertainment industry has done Hitler to death. As a cautionary tale, and due to the bizarre fact that evil fascinates, the Nazis are perfect storytelling fodder. When the History Channel first launched it was almost 24/7 Hitler. This wasn’t by accident. People can be repulsed and fascinated at the time.
Why, though , does Russia’s “Uncle Joe” not receive anything close to the same treatment?
The similarities between Hitler and Stalin are never-ending. Both murdered tens of millions, created a national death-cult around themselves, ruled through the Kafka-esque tool of indiscriminate fear, and surrounded themselves with vicious sociopaths. In many ways Stalin is even more fascinating than Hitler. He was certainly more successful.
My point is that as far as a cautionary tale and storytelling material, there is a wealth of untold stories just sitting in recently-released Soviet files.
Almost every year we get a film about those awful American anti-Communists. But maybe once a decade a look at the true evil of Communism.

I’m very sorry this guy died but I am glad we still live in a country where if you want to handle poisonous snakes for a living you are allowed to. The right to swing your fist ends at the tip of my nose.
