The body of a Mexican photojournalist from the state of Veracruz has been found along with four other individuals in Mexico City. This adds another name to the long list of journalists silenced by drug cartels or government officials.

Ruben Espinoza Becerril, a photographer for Cuarto Oscuro and Proceso Magazine had been hiding out in Mexico City after fleeing the war torn state of Veracruz following several threats. He blamed Governor Javier Duarte for the threats, Mexico’s SinEmbargo.Mx reported.

While the details of the murder have not been released, the organization Article 19 had reported him missing for more than 24 hours. On Saturday, night they announced that his relatives had been notified of the discovery of his body.

As Breitbart Texas previously reported, Mexico has become the most dangerous country for journalists. According to Article 19, Veracruz has had 41 incidents involving journalists including twelve homicides, three kidnappings and dozens of exiled journalists in recent years.
