CNN legal analyst Paul Callan weighed in on CNN’s “New Day” on the Ryan Lochte story in Rio where Lochte said he and three other American Olympic swimmers were robbed at gunpoint by a group dressed up as police officers, which Brazilian police say is a fabrication, is a “rather crazy and stupid plot.”
According to Callan, Lochte deserves a “gold medal in stupidity” for the whole incident.
“If they could mint a new gold medal in stupidity, perhaps it could be sent back to the United States for him because it would appear that he was the leader of this rather crazy and stupid plot,” said Callan.
