Cruz: Bomb Mailings Look Like ‘Terrorist Act’

During an interview broadcast on Tuesday’s edition of MSNBC’s “MTP Daily,” Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) said that the sending of explosive devices to multiple political and media figures “appears to be a terrorist act.”

Cruz said, “Violence is never okay, and it doesn’t matter where on the political spectrum it comes. These bombs that were apparently sent to Soros and Obama and Clinton, that’s deeply troubling. It, on its face, appears to be a terrorist act. I hope the terrorist is caught and is prosecuted and is sent away to jail for a long, long time.”

Cruz added that the country is “badly polarized” and everyone should calm down.

Host Chuck Todd later asked if the president could do more. Cruz answered that he doesn’t want to be a running color commentator on the president. He continued that the “media always focuses on the president. There are too many Democratic politicians that are actively encouraging this.”

Cruz further stated that rhetoric needs to be cooled down everywhere.
