Pop singer Rihanna is taking fire after she made a controversial T-shirt statement while visiting New York City this past Sunday.
The 27-year-old singer, who opted out of a high school diploma to pursue a career in music, was photographed on her way to lunch wearing an oversized white T-shirt with the words, “School kills” boldly displayed across the front of it.
Rihanna tweeted a provocative photograph last August captioned with the same phrase.
In the image she was seen wearing a see-through skirt which had the words “role model” and “shady” inscribed on it.
The photo also displayed graphics of marijuana leaves and cigarette boxes.
Many users on Twitter were quick to call the singer out what they see as an irresponsible message.
imagine how many @rihanna fans will agree with her that school kills..funny. what should they do? Not everyone can sing for a living
