Pop singer Lady Gaga showed support for the Black Lives Matter movement on Sunday after footage released online of a fatal police-involved shooting sparked protests in downtown Chicago.

The “Poker Face” singer took to Twitter over the weekend to post a message to her 62 million followers about Paul O’Neal, the man shot and killed by Chicago police on July 28.

“Paul O’Neal. #BlackLivesMatter. How many children must we lose b4 our justice system does something?” Lady Gaga wrote in her tweet, which included a photo of protesters marching through the streets of Chicago.

O’Neal was reportedly a passenger in a stolen Jaguar that crashed into a Chicago police car. O’Neal fled the scene, leading officers to chase him on foot through the South Side of Chicago.

Video footage of the July 28 incident, released over the weekend, show O’Neal fleeing and officers firing multiple shots while hurtling fences and pursing the suspect between houses.

“Get down! Hands behind your back! You shot at us, motherfu–er!” the officers shouted, according to CNN. The 18-year-old was reportedly unarmed. The three officers involved have been relieved of duty.

As for Lady Gaga, Sunday’s social media message wasn’t her first endorsement of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Last month, the 30-year-singer tweeted: “I pray for the black community who suffer fear of prejudice, violence & injustice. We need lawfulness, fairness, unity. #BlackLivesMatters.”
