Sony released the first trailer for the much-hyped sci-fi thriller Passengers early Tuesday morning.
The film follows Jim Preston (Chris Pratt) and Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence), two people on an intergalactic mission to colonize a far-away planet who are woken up just 30 years into their 120-year sleep schedule.
When the ship malfunctions, the only two people awake on it must team up to save it and the rest of the passengers still asleep onboard.
Michael Sheen and Lawrence Fishburne co-star. The film was written by Jon Spaihts (The Darkest Hour, Prometheus) and directed by Oscar nominee Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game).
Passengers is in theaters December 21.
