Farage Blasts Jo Cox Death Exploiters: ‘Leave Utterly Condemns The Act Of Barbarism’

UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage has hit back at Remain campaigners who have conflated Leave campaigners and UKIP posters with the tragic death of Jo Cox MP last Thursday.

Mr. Farage called the attack on the MP a “horrendous incident that took place last Thursday” and said that “it was right and it was appropriate that there was a pause in the campaign”.

“There are one or two in the Remain campaign,” he said, “their spin doctor perhaps being foremost among them… some of them have tried to say that the motives of that man were some how whipped up and inspired by a Keave campaign that had fought on a nasty, negative, and hateful agenda”.

“That man who had his own mental health issues… that man acted in isolation… what that man did was an act of barbarism,” he said.

And Mr. Farage boomed: “Every one of us who goes out to vote to Leave condemns thoroughly and utterly what he did”.

And he said that compared to the Scottish referendum, the UK’s referendum on EU membership had been relatively tame.

“All that we have said on the subject of immigration is that we believe in sensible and balanced and controlled immigration… we know that we can’t do that as members of the European Union”.

Mr. Farage called on the audience to “have the confidence” to vote to Leave on Thursday, and made mention of Sir Bob Geldof, who he said had “mocked not just me but the men and women (fishermen and women) who had travelled from across the entire United Kingdom”.

“If you think about it, these are the battle lines of this referendum. On the one had you have the banks like Goldman Sachs… on the other hand you have ordinary people from all walks of life… who have got a rotten deal from the corporate world… our political class have literally given away our country”.

This is the first major event since Mr. Farage was accused of stirring up tensions with a hard-line anti-mass migration poster. The death of Jo Cox MP, who was killed by a mental patient with reported and alleged decades-long interest in Neo-Nazism has been blamed squarely on Mr. Farage and the Brexit camp.

Meanwhile Breitbart London has uncovered hundreds of social media posts from left-wing and Remain activists urging Mr. Farage is “shot” or “stabbed” or “killed”.

The European Union referendum is currently in the balance, with most analysts and pollsters claiming it is still “50-50” between the two camps.
