Hundreds Rally Against ‘Awful’ Nuclear Iran Deal in San Diego

Hundreds of San Diegans gathered at Balboa Park on Sunday to protest against a nuclear deal with Iran and urge Congress to vote against it.

Sunday’s rally was sponsored by Stand With Us and coincided with an international day of fasting for Jews throughout the world, known as Tisha B’Av, which mourns the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem.

Scores of large American flags waved predominantly throughout the crowd as dozens of locals held up signs which read “The World Can’t Afford a Nuclear Iran.”

Carline Glick of the Jerusalem Post was the keynote speaker at Sunday’s San Diego rally, after addressing a crowd of over 10,000 people at a rally in New York City just four days earlier. Other speakers, according to the San Diego Jewish World, included Jim and Rosemary Schindler Garlow of the Skyline Church and Philip Graham, the step-son of former California Gov. Pete Wilson.

Congress was given 60 days to review the deal, but President Barack Obama essentially bypassed the legislature, going straight to the UN Security Council last Monday, which approved the deal unanimously by a 15-0 vote.

A larger rally saw over 1,000 people in Los Angeles and included members of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities.
