A Mission Viejo High School grad predicted in 1993 that the Chicago Cubs would win to the World Series in 2016.
He wrote the prediction in his yearbook.
According to a video acquired by ABC 7 from Facebook, Mike Lee, who currently lives in Chicago with his brother David Lee, had written beneath his yearbook picture, “Chicago Cubs 2016 World Champions. You heard it here first.”
The Facebook video of the yearbook prediction was taken by Lee’s former high school classmate Marcos Meza, who posted it online.
In the video, Meza displayed the cover of the yearbook and then flipped to a page of his and then his classmate Mike Lee’s pictures.
“It is not photoshopped,” Meza said.
“Way to call it Mike,” Meza said in the video. “Way to call it. You heard it here second. Mike Lee called it out first.”
The Chicago Cubs broke “the curse” of their 71-year streak of absence from competing in the World Series on Saturday, when they shut out the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-0 in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs played the Cleveland Indians in the first of seven games of the World Series of Tuesday night. The Indians won 6-0. Game 2 takes place Wednesday night. The remaing games will happen October 28-30 and November 1-2.
