March 12 (UPI) — CBS has ordered a second season of its Yellowstone spin-off Marshals, starring Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton.

The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline and Variety reported the news Thursday.

The series, which premiered March 1, has been a ratings hit for CBS and its streaming sister Paramount+

The first episode of the Montana action-drama was the most-watched new scripted series premiere without a football lead-in since FBI debuted in 2018, the network said.

The show also stars Yellowstone veterans Brecken Merrill, Gil Birmingham and Mo Brings Plenty as Tate, Thomas Rainwater and Mo.

It follows Kayce as he starts a new career as a U.S. Marshal after the death of his wife Monica (Kelsey Asbille), father John (Kevin Costner) and brother Jamie (Wes Bentley) from the flagship series.

Logan Marshall-Green and Arielle Kebbel co-star as his teammates.
