Feb. 12 (UPI) — John Krasinski says he “didn’t get a call” about the rumored revival of The Office.
The 38-year-old actor said on Monday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show that NBC hasn’t approached him about reprising Jim Halpert in the potential project.
“I did hear that. On the Internet,” he said of the reports. “Guess who didn’t get a call? Me. What does that say? NBC’s like, ‘You know who we didn’t like? Jim.’”
Host Ellen DeGeneres assured Krasinski the network wouldn’t move forward without him, but the actor wasn’t convinced.
“Well, it looks like they are. I haven’t gotten a call yet,” he responded before saying, “I’d love to get that gang back together.”
TVLine reported in December that NBC was in early talks to revive The Office for the 2018-2019 television season. The network was reportedly encouraged by the successful return of Will & Grace.
Sources said the revival would also take place at the Dunder-Mifflin office in Scranton, Pa. The continuation would feature both new and returning cast members, although Steve Carrell, who played Michael Scott, will not be involved.
Krasinski will next star in the film A Quiet Place with his wife, actress Emily Blunt.
