Oct. 22 (UPI) — The BBC announced casting for But When We Dance, a film about two people who are brought together by a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.

Ozark’s Laura Linney will portray a pianist and single mom, while House of the Dragon’s Rhys Ifans will portray Tony Evans, an elementary school principal.

“Neither knows the other until a starling encounter changes the course of their lives: on the same morning, they are both confronted with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s,” the official synopsis reads.

Paul Mayhew-Archer, who was diagnosed with the disease in 2011, penned the script, while Shakespeare in Love’s John Madden directs.

“I am really looking forward to telling the story of Tony and Emma — a friendship which unfolds unexpectedly,” Madden said in a statement. ‘A story of humor and emotion, of challenge and bravado, of music and dance — transcending the assumptions of a little understood condition, and triumphing over the odds to find joy, release and love.”

The movie will also star Monica Dolan, Rory Kinnear and Paul Mayhew-Archer.

A release date has not yet been shared.
