Meghan Markle helps honor Tina Knowles at Fifteen Percent Pledge gala

Feb. 8 (UPI) — Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle helped honor Tina Knowles, pop music legend Beyonce’s mother, at the Fifteen Percent Pledge fundraiser gala at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Knowles was honored for her leadership, advocacy and commitment to empowering Black communities and creators.

Celebrity attendees at the event included Jeannie Mai, Winnie Harlow, Kimora Lee Simmons, Emma Grede, Rachel Zoe, Lake Bell, and others.

“Shop Black-owned brands with Fifteen Percent Pledge. For consumers who want to shop their values, Fifteen Percent Pledge has created a directory of Black-owned brands across a variety of categories and products,” the organization’s website said.

“Peruse the selection, discover new brands, and shop Black, all in an effort to create greater equity for Black businesses.”
