44 People Arrested During Another Night of Protests in Ferguson

FERGUSON, Missouri–St. Louis law enforcement is confirming the arrest of 44 individuals on Tuesday night during a second evening of post-grand jury verdict protests in Ferguson.

Although the violence in the Ferguson area was not as intense as Monday night, a group of protesters, who marched north up South Florissant Road toward City Hall, managed to set a police cruiser on fire after flipping it over.

Windows at Ferguson’s City Hall building were smashed as police cars arrived at the area and quickly extinguished the fire before releasing tear gas canisters on protesters who refused to leave the site. Law enforcement, with the help of the National Guard, secured the area and confirmed to Breitbart News it was considered a crime scene. During the standoff with law enforcement on South Florissant, protesters threw objects at police, which included bottles of urine.

Another disruption broke out on Tuesday evening on Grand and Arsenal streets, where arrests were near a local cafe, considered a “safe house” by protesters.
