While providing testimony before the House Oversight Committee Tuesday morning, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards boasted about her abortion business’ use of taxpayer funds to provide sex education to young people.

“Through health centers, programs in schools and communities, and online resources, Planned Parenthood is a trusted source of reliable health information that allows people to make informed health decisions,” Richards told the committee. “One and a half million youth and adults participate in our educational programs. We currently average 6 million visits a month on our websites where health care information is readily available in English and Spanish.”

In 2014, however, pro-life organization Live Action produced several investigative videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s disturbing practices of advising young girls about such dangerous sex activities as bondage/discipline and sadomasochistic sex (BDSM).

As Breitbart News reported, Planned Parenthood “counselors” offered guidance to undercover investigators–believed to be teens–on how to enjoy “safe” BDSM sexual behaviors, including “whipping,” “tying up,” and “asphyxiation.”

Planned Parenthood has been the recipient of Obamacare grants specifically for sex education, as Live Action President Lila Rose observed.

“Here’s an abortion corporation, which gets 45% of its budget from the taxpayers, telling 15- and 16-year-olds not only to have sex, but also to choke each other in the process,” Rose said. “Police should be busting down its door.”

While Planned Parenthood does offer on its website basic information about sex and birth control methods–information that one could obtain from many other sources–Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, for example, advertises a flier for its “Fifty Shades of Safe” workshop, during which attendees are trained to:

  • Explain the link between BDSM (Bondage, Discipline/Domination, Sadism/Submission, Masochism) and the sexual behaviors of young adults and/or teenagers.
  • Identify the types of behaviors involved in BDSM and how a BDSM relationship is successfully navigated between sexual partners.
  • Relate elements of a healthy BDSM relationship to the relationship between Ana and Christian in the novel 50 Shades of Grey.

“The Planned Parenthood-approved advice of ‘do whatever you want, but just use a safe word’ glorifies kids acting out rape scenarios,” Rose said. “It’s extremely dangerous counseling: they’re undermining and invalidating the crucially important rule of no means no.”

Richards provided testimony to the committee in the wake of investigative videos exposing her organization’s practice of harvesting the body parts of aborted babies for sale on the open market.
