A veteran who is also a student at Umpqua Community College told Breitbart News that he was about 200 yards away from the shooting but couldn’t get there in time to do so.
The man acknowledged that he has a concealed carry permit and said he wasn’t concerned about the fact that he wasn’t supposed to have a gun on the campus. Breitbart News reporter Lee Stranahan mentioned to the student that the university’s president “just stated” in a press conference that the school was a gun-free campus. The student stated, “It’s not my responsibility to make sure everybody knows the law of the land…”
The student continued, ‘I never thought in a million years I’d be at a school shooting.”
