Cook County prosecutors indicate 22-year-old Dwight Boone-Doty is now being charged with murder in the heinous November 2015 shooting death of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee.

Boone-Doty was paroled from prison in August 2015, “three months before Tyshawn was lured into the alley in the 8000 block of South Damen and fatally shot.”

According to the Chicago Sun-Times,  prosecutors say Boone-Doty “is charged with first-degree murder in Tyshawn’s slaying on Nov. 2, 2015, as well another murder and an attempted murder” in October. The charges amount to a total of five felonies.

It should be noted that “Boone-Doty was sentenced to five years in prison in July 2013 for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and other narcotics convictions, prison records show.” But he was “paroled in August 2015”–just two months before the October murder over which he has been charged and three months before the murder of Tyshawn.

Corey Morgan–a 27-year-old from Lansing, Michigan–has also been charged in Tyshawn’s death and is being held without bail. Chicago Police believe Tyshawn “was killed in retaliation for the Oct. 13 murder of Tracey Morgan, 25, who was the brother of Corey Morgan.”
