Trump Campaign Features El Paso Residents Who Want to ‘Finish the Wall’

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign released a video on Monday of El Paso residents talking about the effectiveness of a wall built on their border with Mexico.

“They put the fence up and ever since then, the crime rate has gone down dramatically,” one person said in a video filmed by the campaign.

The campaign launched their video Monday afternoon after local officials criticized the president’s characterization of their city as one of the country’s “most dangerous cities” until a physical barrier was built on the Southern border.

“Tonight, the President will join the millions of Americans who understand that a southern border wall is essential to border security,” Campaign Manager Brad Parscale said in a statement. “El Paso’s example shows that only with a physical barrier can we stop the flow of illegal immigration, drugs, and crime and secure our southern border.”

The president recently urged supporters to shout “Finish the Wall,” arguing that he had already begun construction on the border security project.

“The chant should be now, ‘Finish the wall’ because we’re building a lot of wall,” he said.
