Chick-fil-A Expects College Football Semifinal

The only company that will have a College Football Playoff semifinal game named after them is Chick-fil-A. The honor will come less than a year after President Dan Cathy came out against gay marriage, and the Huffington Post had to admit that sales had soured to $4.6 billion in 2012 after the controversy.

According to the Associated Press, the Rose, Orange and Sugar Bowls will join the Cotton, Fiesta and Chick-fil-A Bowls, formerly the Peach Bowl, as national semifinal game hosts in the rotation.

ESPN noted the 12-year rotation, beginning in 2015 and ending in 2026, will be:

•  Rose and Sugar bowls: Jan. 1, 2015; Jan. 1, 2018; Jan. 1, 2021; and Jan. 1, 2024.

•  Orange and Cotton bowls: Jan. 1, 2016; Jan. 1, 2019; Jan. 1, 2022; and Jan. 1, 2025.

•  Fiesta and Chick-fil-A bowls: Jan. 2, 2017; Jan. 1, 2020; Jan. 2, 2023; and Jan. 1, 2026.
