Cam Newton Gets in Kid’s Face After Taunt About Super Bowl Fumble

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton got hot under the collar after a boy mocked the player over his 2016 Super Bowl fumble.

After the kid heckled Newton, the 2015 NFL Most Valuable Player briefly got up in the kid’s face, a video of the encounter shows.

“Hey Cam, can I get a fumble?” the boy said laughing. Another asked “What happened in the Super Bowl,” in reference to the Panthers’ 24-10 Super Bowl 50 loss to the Denver Broncos, according to the Daily Mail.

After Newton got up in his face, one of the boys followed up quipping, “stop playing, I’ll fade you.”

The frustrated 6-foot-5, 245-pound player then replied, “You gonna do what?”

The incident occurred at a high school football camp in Bradenton, Florida.

Newton had a very bad day at Super Bowl 50 when in the final few seconds he didn’t follow through and recover a fumble. He was also sacked six times during the game.

The 29-year-old player was the No. 1 overall pick at the 2011 NFL Draft and has been Carolina’s starting quarterback since he joined the NFL.
