The Minnesota Golden Gophers greatly helped their tournament chances on Tuesday night, with a thrilling 4-point victory over conference rival Purdue. However, as Minnesota fans stormed the floor, one Gopher fan greatly helped his chances of getting knocked out as he gave a Purdue player the double-bird.
In the moments following the final buzzer, a Minnesota fan taunted Purdue’s Matt Haarms, by giving him the middle finger on both hands. Haarms then shoved the fan and a referee had to intervene.

Several fans took to Twitter to blast the fan for taunting Haaarms.
To the loser that stormed the court and gave the double bird in Matt Haarms’ face, you oughta be banned from @NCAA events! #loser

Just saw a Minnesota student run up to Matt Haarms flipping him off with his phone right in his face. So unbelievably rude. #Purdue #Gophers #boilerup @HammerAndRails

Any player should be allowed to swing on a fan like this with no repercussions. @bigten pic.twitter.com/BiEPVwfmAU

“The Boilermakers, who had their five-game winning streak broken and lost for only the second time in their last 15 games, fell into a three-way tie for first place in the conference with Michigan and Michigan State,” according to the Detroit Free Press.
