DHS Releasing ‘Family’ Illegal Immigrants

DHS expanded family detention last year in response to the unprecedented run on the border by illegal immigrant adults with children. The government had pointed to detention as a deterrent to the ongoing influx of illegal immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border — which has seen more than 108,000 family unit members apprehended attempting to illegally enter the U.S. over the past two fiscal years.

On Wednesday, an illegal immigrant who accosted a 13-year-old girl on Sunday evening in Milford, Michigan was arrested and taken into federal custody, but it took three days for ICE to get involved in the process.

Sanctuary Cities Releasing 1,000 Criminal Aliens Per Month

As Senate Republicans prepare to take on cities that do not comply with federal immigration authorities, the Center for Immigration Studies reveals that the approximately 340 so-called sanctuary cities in the U.S. have been releasing about 1,000 criminal aliens, combined, monthly.

Captured: Convicted Burglar Deported 5 Times, Back in Texas

A convicted burglar from Mexico with a history of repeated felony convictions and deportations is back in Texas. Arturo Oleague Martinez, 48, was arrested by federal agents last week at the county jail in this border city and taken before a U.S. Magistrate Judge. He was charged with one count of illegally re-entering the country.

244 Illegal Aliens Rounded up in California

Over 240 illegally present foreign nationals, including previously deported sexual offenders, were taken into custody over the course of four days last week when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials out of the Los Angeles area conducted an operation in California’s Southland.

The law enforcement operation resulted in 17 arrests in El Salvador, seven in Guatemala and 12 in Mexico. Additionally officials discovered 39 illegal immigrants — including 10 unaccompanied minors — and seized 20 properties in Guatemala and 2 in Mexico worth an estimated $2 million combined. Authorities also seized a slew of items associated with smugglers, including vehicles, weapons, boats and approximately $200,000 in approximate in bulk cash and bank accounts.

ICE Arrests 244 Criminal Aliens In Southern California

The four-day enforcement action took place last week. Fifty-six percent of the arrestees had serious and/or violent felony convictions including sex crimes against children, weapons charges, and drug convictions. The remaining 44 percent had “significant or multiple misdemeanors.” Four of the criminal immigrants had been previously deported and illegally reentered the U.S., including a Mexican national convicted of “sexual abuse with force” in New York.

ICE Losing Illegal Immigrants Released from Texas Family Detention Centers and Jails

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is losing track illegal immigrants released from jails and family detention centers. ICE does not know how many immigrant families they let go and they do not seem to know where the ones they let go went. Many of these families have been released in Texas. New removal enforcement policies have let to criminal aliens simply being released from jails across the country.

Judge Orders Release of Up to 1,700 Illegal Immigrant Families in Texas

A California court ruling could set free more than 1,700 women and children who are being held by the Department of Homeland Security in facilities in the town of Dilley and Karnes County, Texas. As of Monday, immigration judges were getting the word out to release these families, as part of a court decision in California that struck down the Obama administrations policy regarding the handling of Central American illegal immigrant families and unaccompanied minors.
