Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto took to Twitter today to make one of the biggest announcements of his presidency—the most wanted man in the Western Hemisphere, drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán, had been recaptured seven months after escaping from a Mexican maximum security prison.

Pilot Who Helped Mexican Kingpin ‘El Chapo’ Escape in Custody

On October 8, Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office announced that the pilot who helped notorious drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán escape from a high-security prison had been captured. This was the first time any mention had been made of a pilot being involved in the plot, and authorities did not say if the arrest was bringing them any closer to discovering Guzmán’s whereabouts.

Mexican authorities have undertaken a desperate manhunt for former Sinaloa drug cartel boss Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán after he escaped from the Altiplano maximum security prison near Mexico City. It was the second time Guzmán escaped from prison; the first was in 2001.

FBI Launches Investigation of Possible Corruption and Drug Trafficking at Clinton Correctional Facility

One source familiar with the investigation into the escape of the two convicts from Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York tells Breitbart News “they are investigating a drug trade inside the prison that is being operated by the prisoners and the correctional officers.” Another source familiar with the investigation tells Breitbart News the arrests of Joyce Mitchell and Gene Palmer are just “the tip of the iceberg.”

Cook, a 21-year law enforcement veteran, was on patrol by himself Sunday about 3 pm eastern about 5 miles north of the 22-square mile search area where as many as 1,000 fellow officers were looking for Sweat, when he spotted a man dressed in camouflage clothing jogging on Coveytown Road in the Town of Constable, just 2 miles north of the Village of Malone, New York.
