HOUSTON, Texas — A “Bernie or Bust” activist attending the Green Party Convention said “the Clintons did a very racist deed back in the ’90’s when they worked to create a prison bill, a crime bill, that resulted in the largest incarceration of African American citizens in our nation’s history. That’s a racist deed,” she said.
“Donald Trump is not politically correct, “Bernie or Bust” activist Debbie Lusignan said in a video interview with Breitbart Texas. “He says racist things” but she found great fault in the creation of the “prison bill” that incarcerated so many black Americans.
Breitbart Texas asked Lusignan to describe what she was doing with the “Bernie or Bust” movement and to tell viewers why the Green Party is the place where Bernie supporters need to land.
“I was involved with Bernie or Bust mainly because it is not about loyalty to a political party for me, it’s about principle over Party, and policy over politician.”
She said neither of the two major Party candidates are viable now that Bernie is out of the race. “So Jill Stein is really the only person within this election who now represents my interests,” she explained.
When asked what she would say to the many Bernie Sanders supporters that have decided to stay within the Democratic Party, she responded, “I think that there has been a lot of blackmail that has been utilized to keep Democrats who are not having their core ethical and political values represented. And I think if you actually look at Hillary Clinton’s actual record and her donor’s list, she has actually done the things that we fear that Donald Trump might.”
“I think the Democrats actually frighten me more,” Lusignan said, “because they tie-up in politically correct bows and make Democrats comfortable with what they would oppose in Republicans. And the hypocrisy of it has to end. And I think people don’t want to face the fact that there is nowhere to run now and we actually have to try to create solutions outside a political system that doesn’t give us a voice anymore.”
