'Newsless Snore': Politico Trashes Hillary Clinton's 'Hard Choices' Book

Politico’s Mike Allen dismissed Hillary Clinton’s new memoir Hard Choices as a “newsless snore” at the beginning of a week of news dedicated to the release of her political memoirs.

“WELCOME TO HILLARY WEEK!” Allen announced in his Politico Playbook email digest on Monday morning, dropping a “truth bomb” reaction to the book.

“‘Hard Choices’ is a newsless snore, written so carefully not to offend that it will fuel the notion that politics infuses every part of her life,” he wrote. “In this book, like in ‘The Lego Movie’ theme song, everyone is awesome!”

Allen adds that despite the bland nature of the book, “Americans will see Secretary Clinton at her most likable.”

Politico’s Maggie Haberman, who leads coverage of the former Secretary of State for the political news site, also dismissed the book’s relevance.

“The book is plainly written with a potential future campaign in mind, and will likely do little to quell some of the questions from journalists and criticisms from opponents that she will face down the road,” she wrote.
