Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush will be one of Stephen Colbert’s inaugural “Late Show” guests when the new version of the show returns to CBS next month.
Colbert took to his Twitter page Tuesday to announce the news, while also taking a jab at the crowded GOP field:

The former Florida governor will appear after Hollywood actor George Clooney, whom Colbert announced a week ago would be his first-ever guest.
Bush responded to Colbert via Twitter Tuesday:

During an appearance Monday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles, Colbert expressed his desire for billionaire presidential candidate Donald Trump to stay in the race, according to Variety, and said that waiting until September to go on the air has reduced him to “dry-Trumping.”
“Every little boy grows up believing they could be president of the United States. I’m so happy that little boy is Donald Trump. Please stay healthy until I get on the air,” Colbert said. “Every night before I go to bed I light a candle and pray that he stays in the race, and I also pray that no one puts that candle anywhere near his hair.”
Stephen Colbert’s Late Show will debut on CBS September 8.
