Gas Prices Hit All-Time Highs In California

This past weekend, Gas prices in Los Angeles County were the highest they’ve ever been on Memorial Day.

The average price of self-serve regular gas crested at $4.299 a gallon. Even though prices had dipped for 12 consecutive days prior to Memorial Day, the price was far beyond previous memorial days because of an 18-cent May increase stemming from the closure of oil refineries around California. Last year, the price of gas on Memorial Day was $4.26.

Orange County followed suit; it was $4.26 as opposed to $4.03 last year.
