Schweizer: DOJ Investigation of Obama Fundraising Would Bring 'Immediate Transparency'

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus on Thursday sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder requesting a Department of Justice investigation of the Obama campaign's "pattern of potential misconduct" in illegally soliciting foreign donations.

The Government Accountability Institute conducted a nine-month investigation and found the Obama campaign was perhaps the most vulnerable national campaign to illegal foreign contributions and may be willfully ignoring their vulnerabilities to add to the campaign's coffers by not using anti-fraud measures on its donation pages. The report also found that the Obama campaign did not own Obama.com, which redirects foreign traffic to Obama's donation page and it was owned by an Obama campaign bundler -- Robert Roche -- who lives and owns business in China. Roche was curiously seated at the head table during the 2011 China State Dinner.

Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer told Breitbart News he favors any efforts that will lead to more transparency.

"Our push has been for immediate transparency and we favor anything that moves our system in that direction," Schweizer said.
